This career orientated course focuses on developing high level creative and technical skills to work as an interior designer on a broad range of residential and commercial design projects.

Course Structure

  • Part 1: Cert IV in Design (CUV40303) specialising in interior decoration 
  • Part 2: AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, and interior construction  
  • Part 3: Commercial design: office, retail and hospitality


 

 

Entry requirements

  • You are required to attend an interview prior to enrolment
  • No prior design experience is necessary
  • Basic computer skills are essential

major projects

There are a series of major design projects in this course including residential properties, retail shops, offices, restaurants and bars. They are presented by real clients delivered as closely as possible to working in a design firm. 

assessment

Assessment is a combination of online equizzes, research assignments and practical projects some of which are completed in class. You will need to allow between 2-6 hours per week for homework depending on your mode of study.
